Clean-up Continues After Hurricane Laura

September 2, 2020

Here are some pictures that I took at Longleaf this week. Last Sunday Gerald, Fran and I cleaned up Long Leaf road and made it passable so that you can drive in to the museum. I used the tractor to push all of the debris off of the road and to the side. Gerald cut the tree off of the downed power line and put a pole under the line so that you can drive under it. I tied red flagging on the line to make it visible. Fran cleaned out all of the food in the refrigerators at the museum to keep it from going bad.

This morning I went out and took the pictures of the downed power lines at the entrance of Long Leaf Road. Forest Hill utilities were on scene marking the underground gas and water lines so that Cleco can drill holes to set new poles. Cleco was not there yet, however on the way back home I noticed 15-20 bucket trucks were staged at the school in Forest Hill.

Below are the pictures of the damaged lines at the entrance road and a couple of shots of Domino who is holding up well considering!
